My gadget wishlist of 2024

Let’s be real: It’s not cheap being a gamer. I’ve been fortunate to be able to buy myself a decent PC which will (hopefully) last me many years to come. But there always seems to be something that breaks, whether it’s my joycons for the Switch or my mouse. Therefore, I’ve never really had much money left for things I actually want to buy. But that doesn’t mean I can’t make a nice wishlist for 2024, where I drool over cool tech and gadgets I want but probably can’t afford. Let’s dive in.

A white keyboard
I’ve been trying to find a new keyboard for a while, and it’s been a challenge to say the least. And I don’t know why, to be honest, because my standards aren’t that high.
I want a keyboard that is:

  • White
  • Isn’t crazy expensive
  • Has decent reviews
I’d love to get the Aurora collection keyboard to Logitech, because I’ve always been very happy with Logitech’s products in the past. Plus, the Aurora collection just looks so good. However, I can’t justify spending 170 USD/140 euro on a keyboard right now. Another good choice is Swedish brand Xtrfy’s K4 TKL keyboard. It’s below 100 USD/90 EUR, has gotten great review scores and is a white no-fuss keyboard. Another contender is NZXT’s recent release, because I love the aesthetic on their products. However, it’s too pricey for me.

A mouse mat that isn’t just black
(First off, I know a mouse mat isn’t technically a gadget.)
When it comes to mouse mats, I’m just bored of what’s currently the go-to’s. When I upgraded my PC a few years ago I got the most interesting one in the store: A black one with a pink stitched border and the brand’s logo in some sort of weird ombré effect in pink on the background. And when I look around online at the regular gaming related stores it’s all black mouse mats, with the odd crazy color kaleidoscope type design that makes my eyes bleed. A friend recommended I check out Etsy, and they do have some really nice

Steam Deck
This is my biggest first world problem currently: I’m so over my Switch.
While I am a PC gamer first and foremost, most of the games on my wishlist right now I’d rather play on a handheld device. This includes the lovely indie titles Snacko, Garden Life, Furnish Master, Minami Lane and more – And they’re all released first (or only) on Steam. However, a Steam Deck with decent specs is crazy expensive.

Other things that would be cool to have but I’m not sure I’m going to bother

A proper webcam for work meetings
The one I have right now I got for like 5 USD and it’s complete ass, honestly. But considering the price I’m glad it at least somewhat shows my face.

A proper pair of in-ears
There’s something wonky with my ears where they just detest any type of in-ear headphones. But I needed a pair for when I bike or work out, rather than my beloved Marshall headphones. Since I wasn’t sure it was going to work with my ears, I got a cheaper pair but still from a decent brand. They fit perfectly and my ears don’t protest, but I need to charge them every other time I use them. It’s horrible.

The games currently on top of my wishlist

Most gamers talk about how long their backlog is, and yes, mine is also five miles long. However, how about the wishlist?! I don’t know how it happened, but suddenly I have so many exciting titles on there. Everything from old releases to new ones and upcoming titles, life sims, survival games and a few not-so-cosy titles. It’s a long list, but here are my current top wishes. Moonstone Island This indie game seems like

My most played PC games of 2023

Before I checked my list of most played games on PC this year, I had higher hopes for myself. But as it turns out, I’ve mainly just played toxic multiplayer games that did nothing for my mental health. I mean, Battlefield 2042 was by far the game I spent most hours in. Thankfully, I’ve weighed that up a little bit by finding some really great open world games. Battlefield 2042 I’m usually a Call of

My most played Switch games of 2023

I spent a lot of time with my Switch during 2023. The combination of being burnt out and finding some really addicting games good for handhelds really had me glued to my Switch. However, I mostly spent my time divided between three games, where one of them was a dear old friend. Let’s Build a Zoo Initially I bought this cute Zoo simulator for PC, but after discovering it existed on Switch I swapped to

My most played mobile games of 2023

I am, and will always be a mobile gaming fan…For the most part. I get grossed out by the basic pay to win method that most games have, and some games are just shameless, soulless copies of others. However, I’ve played some really good mobile games over the years. But when I sat down to rank my most played mobile games from last year, I was kind of confused. Did I really not play any
